Classical Music, huh! To a generation that is obsessed with listening to pop songs and EDM, listening to classical music can be such a drag. But like Gustavo Dudamel said, “It’s not that people don’t like classical music. It’s that they don’t have the chance to understand and to experience it.”
More about Classical Music
Classical music has more benefits than people actually believe. Not only it’s pleasant to your ears but it can perform some miraculous functions if you let it.
- Your brain works ten times better with classical music
Even if you search classical music playlists on YouTube, the first playlist you will find will be titled something like classical music for studying or something similar.
Countless research has suggested the ability of the brain to focus has increased when listening to classical music. Students use it to focus on their studies and office workers use it to increase their productivity.
2. An antidote to Mental Problems
No matter how efficient one’s brain might be at youth, it wears down as it grows older. And in the case of some people, they get diseases like Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Not only has listening to Classical music has prevented such diseases but it has also helped people to recover their memories from the past.
Moreover, it makes you happy and fights against anxiety depression and many more mental health problems.
3. Better Sleep and Less Pain
Sleep has been proved to be of utmost importance yet so many people suffer from sleep-related illnesses. Classical music proves itself to be useful in these cases and relaxes body and mind.
Similarly, people suffering from chronic pain and post-surgery pain are found to relax better when they are made to listen to classical music over a long period of time.
As Bob Marley once said, “When music hits you, you feel no pain.”
4. Calms you down
Do you know that road accident increased so much in Germany that the government released a CD for drivers which have Mozart’s Piano Concerto No 21? This song has a soothing effect that calms down the drivers and prevents road accidents.
5. It makes you creative
Creative people listen to classical music when they’re working. Be it painter, writer, or even designer, they get their creative juices flowing when they are working while listening to classical music.
It’s more of a personal opinion but unlike science and technology (and wine), music did not get better with age. Beethoven and Mozart and Schubert ruled those times and are still ruling over the hearts of those who truly understand music. So maybe, listening to a few classical kinds of music once in a while isn’t that bad is it?
